About Delts Cycling & The Little 500
Delt Cycling is the Delta Tau Delta bike team that competes each year in the Little 500 at Indiana University. Known as @JET.BLACH on Instagram —a name honoring the founders of Delta Tau Delta—the program represents discipline, teamwork, and competitive commitment.
The team fields a roster of nine riders and 2026’s team is led by Team Captain Ben Nordstrom. As a three-time Little 500 champion, Delt Cycling is widely regarded as a Top 3 team on campus and a serious competitor every season.
Membership in Delt Cycling requires dedication, accountability, and a willingness to train year-round alongside teammates who value preparation and performance. The program offers members the opportunity to compete at a high level while contributing to one of Indiana University’s most respected traditions.
ABOUT THE LITTLE 500:
Founded in 1951, the Little 500—often known as Little Five—is an annual track cycling race held each April at Indiana University. Modeled after the Indianapolis 500, it is widely regarded as the largest collegiate bike race in the United States, drawing more than 25,000 spectators to Bill Armstrong Stadium each year.
Teams compete in four-person rotations on a quarter-mile cinder track, with the men’s race spanning 200 laps (50 miles). The event is nationally recognized as “The World’s Greatest College Weekend,” blending elite collegiate competition with meaningful scholarship impact.
